Hi Gena and Paul,
I just wanted to send you a quick note to say thanks so much for launching and continuing to host the homeschool and homestead blog communities. This has been on my mind especially for a few days, after visiting myspace and viewing the blogs of many young people I know. The HSB1 and HSB2 communities provide a healthy, wholesome and relatively safe environment. My daughters have learned so much, and made good friends through their HSB blogging. Over the past few months we have been able to meet up IRL with Harriette Jacobs and her boys, as well as a family (homeschool Blogger mijubrifarms) from Colorado.

"Hi there!

I just wanted to drop everyone at TOS a note to say how blessed I feel to be associated with your publication.

Not only has advertising with you brought me lots of new subscribers, but your staff has been incredibly helpful in showing this rookie the ropes in regards to advertising and marketing my little business.

I will always be grateful for the encouragement I have received, along with the great response to my ads!

May the Lord richly bless you all!"

Slow moving day  by Christy
Today has been a normal boring day at the Sharp house.  We did school and messed around the house.  It is a rainy, yucky day here in KY.  I hope the rain goes away soon.  It really makes it hard to be perky when it is raining. Paul is heading to NC.  He just amazes me.  I don't know how he does it.  As for me, I am ready for more coffee.  Normally, I only drink it in the morning.  Today is an evening coffee kind of day.  It feels like 8 or 9 and it is only 4.  I may (more)
Insight Technical Education  by 4mykids
Insight Technical Education sent out a variety of products for Crew members to try out.  We received Complete-A-Sketch Vision- Dexterity- Focus and Advanced Complete-A-Sketch for review.  If you like drafting and plan to teach it to your kids this might be for you.  First, there are some things that you should know about me and my family.   We are not very structured.  We are creative in the whimsical sense.  We teach from an eclectic approach.  When I want to place a picture on my wall I don't pull out the level first and, usually I don't even mark the spot with a (more)

Back in the Saddle Again  by Ann
I really don't like taking breaks from our lessons.  I find I actually get bored! Can you imagine?  I love being with my guys and learning with them.  I gives my day structure and I get things done.  When left with all day to do what I want, I find myself getting little accomplished.  I was relieved to start at our lessons again yesterday.  It was a bit of a shaky start, but we got it going again.  We are finally in module B in chapter 10 of Volume 2.  We'll only be there until tomorrow and then we'll move (more)

Here's a teaser from the book Barrie and I are writing together. If you want to know more about it, click here. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ While trying to put out the fire, Halamath heard the rustling of footsteps in the woods. They weren’t like a scampering squirrel or a rabbit; they were quiet and stealthy.      “Tiralin, I think something’s watching us.”      “Do hush. Didn’t you hear me before? I don’t want to talk.”      “But Tiralin, there’s really something out there.”      “No, you’re just trying to make conversation with me.”      “But Tira------ah!” His voice seemed suddenly muffled.      (more)

KinderBach Review  by Mona Lisa
KinderBach Learning Center As a member of the TOS Crew, I was given the opportunity to review a company that offers online children’s piano lessons. My family was given a membership to fully review the lessons and curriculum. I will describe the program as well as our personal experience as you read on. The KinderBach Learning Center was created by Karri Gregor. Her background includes musical education, singing, and visual arts. Karri developed KinderBach after an unsuccessful search for an instructor for her two children. She started a music studio and taught many children, until her husband was transferred. At (more)

Pr 10:4 He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.  Pr 12:24 The hand of the diligent will rule, But the lazy man will be put to forced labor.  Pr 13:4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.
